The Yeti is a novel.
All posts are numbered and available here.
I plan to revise and upload each segment of the novel here.
I am still learning the mechanics of Substack. I do not plan on having paywalled posts. I do plan on eliciting donations for a self-published print edition of the novel.
If you prefer blurb-style introductions:
The novel follows the interconnected lives of three students at the fictional engineering school Greensborough Technical Institute: Grayson Hu, Rebecca Lin, and Meida Shen. Grayson is a carnivorous thermophobic quasi-giant whose slow alienation and loss of sanity after discovering the anti-technology jeremiad, ‘Technogemony’, is the main focus of the plot. Rebecca is an ambitious chemical engineering student conflicted by her research under the Mengele-esque Dr. Pham. Meida is a chain-smoking neurobiology graduate student haunted by the ghosts of laboratory mice. The novel is interspersed with long fictional quotations from the author of ‘Technogemony’ Lomki Parlolapin, the paranoid science fiction writer Amos Meridian, and the anonymous former revolutionary militia leader Pineapple Supreme (AKA “the man who talks to rabbits'').
I have written fiction my whole life and this is not my first novel. It is, however, the first novel I am publishing. My credentials for writing professionally other than the first prize for fiction in a campus-wide writing competition are nonexistent. I work as a software developer in Manhattan. I spend my time reading and writing.
